This is just the common mailserver for most students, students may have addresses at several other locations, among them is There is also the possibility of students having accounts on Hotmail, Online or other commersial sites. These students are not included here, for obvious(?) reasons.
All accounts (stud9999/ngraa/st099999) can be addressed on lots of domains like @student.uib.no, @rasmus.uib.no, @nille.uib.no or @www.student.uib.no). Most accounts will have mailaliases consisting of «first givenname»«dot»«last surname» (ie Marve.Fleksnes@student.uib.no).
Some students was given domainaddresses at the departement where they registered some years ago (ie @eng.uib.no or @pki.uib.no). These should still work but will not be given to new accounts.
Old accounts (ie not st099999) will also work with @uib.no or even @stud.uib.no,the new accounts (ie st099999) will not work that way.
Some might be confused with student.uib.no vs stud.uib.no, student.uib.no are students but stud.uib.no is the Student-office!
