Big Fish, Small Fry:
Globalisation of the Lake Victoria Fisheries

In this material we present a case study of Lake Victoria in Africa. ”Big Fish, Small Fry” clearly illustrates the various dilemmas that can arise from increased globalisation. Some important issues touched on in this case include the impact of the fish export industry at Lake Victoria on the local people living around the lake and the challenge to achieve sustainable use of the fish resources. In short, this case study presents an introduction to current problems related to sustainable development and increased globalisation. The target group is high school students and teachers, as well as students at lower grade levels.
