This project will contribute to the understanding of how bioprospecting can be organized in compliance with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) in Norway through:

• Exploring the status and range of bioprospecting practices and models (identification of stakeholders, collections and procedures in Norway and in other nations).
  
  
• Participatory evaluation, what kinds of Norwegian bioprospecting models are perceived to be most successful, taking into account the objectives of the CBD and the Bonn Guidelines, this will be studied in light of international experiences and cases.
  
• Operationalisation, how can different particularities of bioprospecting be integrated into practical standards for achieving best practice in bioprospecting in Norway.

The complexity of a multifaceted activity such as bioprospecting demands an interdisciplinary approach, this project constitutes and effort towards integrating different disciplines into the examination of the theme.
