Start Up. 

Two days gathering at ISEGRAN, Frederiksstad.

October 16-17 , 2003.

The main purpose:
-         a hot and inspiring start of the semester
-         that everybody known a little about what everybody is doing
-         to “force” everybody to make a disposition and think trough the timetable
-         to secure fair and formalized contact between student and supervisor(s).

The program is quite simply that every student, one after the other, makes a presentation of 15-30 minutes followed by discussion with other students and supervisors:

 1)      For students up to app. the first year the presentation will follow the model from this semesters “writing workshop”, i.e. we will concentrate on research design. 
-         problematique, research-questions, hypothesis etc.
-         list of used material, data
-         list of methodological and theoretical inspirations
-         3-5 main obstacles, problems

2) For students after app. the first year focus will be:
-         disposition, table of content (for book or articles)
-         a list of most important remaining problems
-         timetable
-         tentative appointments of key-deliveries an supervision

3) Students in the finishing phase might concentrate on their own writing i. e. not participate.

Staff /supervisors are expected to participate.

We will departure by bus from The Research Park in the morning of October 16^th  and return late in the afternoon October 17^th.
