Summary
Ilker Fer, born in 1973 (Turkey), has completed his postdoc (Feb. 2004) at
the Geophysical Institute, University of Bergen (UoB) under the NFR-funded
project entitled "Boundary layer processes affecting
dense water flow on a slope". He
received his Ph.D. (2001) from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne through his dissertation entitled "Dynamics of winter cooling in Lake
Geneva". He obtained his M.Sc. on hydraulics engineering (1997) from the Institute of Science
and Technology, Technical University of Istanbul (ITU)
after being graduated as a civil engineer (ITU,
l995). From August 2001
to February 2002 he worked under the "Study on
the development of new CO2 sending method for Ocean Storage" project at UoB. He
is also affiliated with the Bjerknes Centre for
Climate Research (BCCR) and is presently the co-leader
of the “Ocean-Ice-Atmosphere processes” BCCR
research group.
