Welcome to Bergen, the "City Between the Seven Mountains". These pages have existed (give or take a few changes) in their present form since 1991 when I first published them on the web. They are very old (in web years) and some of the information in them is beginning to become dated although I have tried hard to put timeless yet useful information in them. I have ceased to update these pages any more. This is mainly because I do not live in Bergen any more; I live in Oslo and it is very difficult to get timely information about Bergen and what´s happening there. I´m still responsible for maintaining these pages and do it out of love for the city and its people. It and they still hold a special place in my heart.

I intend this as an introduction to Bergen and will take you through some of the sites in and around the city as well as offer tips to those who are planning a trip to Bergen now or in the future.

There is a yearly jazz festival, Nattjazz (Night Jazz), held during the summer in Bergen that is a popular attraction. A guided tour of nightlife in Bergen city is also available. An unusual and whimsical look at Bergen as seen throughout the seasons has been written by Egil Overaa, a student at London's Imperial College. The top level map of Norway contains pointers to other tourist information about sites and cities in Norway. The information about other cities worldwide is avilable from  , communities around the world.
