550 Mail refused, see http://www.uib.no/it/rbl/
when trying to send mail addressed to someone at the University of Bergen. We regret that lots of mailservers still do no attempt to stop relaying of spam from thirdparties to our site. The ability to reject spamrelay is available in all modern mailsystems.Since you have received this errormessage, our site has received such mail from your site. Internet sites that allow relay of spam to UiB will be blocked by our local rbl-service. Also spam generating sites will be added to our blacklist.
We try not to block friendly academic sites, however this could happen once in a while. If you are troubled by this error, you should contact your local mailadministrator and claim the mailserver upgraded to prevent such criminal behavior as spamrelay.
If you are using some dialup service to connect to our mailservers, you will also get this error. On a dialup connection you should send mail through the provider's mailserver rather than directly to uib.no
If steps have been taken at your organization to prevent spamrelay and you still are unable to send mail to uib.no, please send a mail to postmaster@uib.no, which will accept mail even from blocked sites. Or you could send a fax with «attn: postmaster» to +47-55584299, please state the domainaddress you were sending from.
