Norway
Benedicte and Christin present themselves..
Benedicte
is a
foreign student here in Norway studying didactics at the University in Bergen,
Norway. She is French and is here in Norway for the first time. She is interested
in languages, their history, culture etc. She comes from a place east in France
called Nancy, which is a small town a bit bigger than Bergen. She is dark haired
with big brown eyes. She's 23 years old, 1.72 metres and she is really gorgeous.
Christin
is also a student here in Bergen, but she comes from Oslo, which
is the capital of Norway. She has studied History, English and especially
Religion, which definitely seems to be her favourite topic. She is now studying
Pedagogics and is trainning to be a teacher. She's 25 years old and very much of
the Scandinavean type, which means blond haired, blue eyed and quite good
looking.
As you all can see, we are someone you really don't want to
miss 'meeting', but reading on you will find us intellectually interesting as
well.
The following passage will show you some of our
interests.:
Benedicte: So. You told me that you studied English, History and Religion. Can
you tell me why you're interested in these fields and what kind of incidences
these studies bring forth in your everyday life?
Christin: That was a tough question !! English is a subject a chose because I'm
very fond of England, the people who lives there and the language itself.
Religion is, as you mentioned it, my favorite subject. I'm always wondering about
why and how people think, act etc., and by reading about different religions and
history I get more knowledge about these matters. I think this is usefull when
meeting people from other countries, especially when so many foreigners come to
Norway for one reason or another and we all have to live together.
Did this answer your questions ?? What about you ?? Why did you choose to come
to Norway ? Did you have a choice ? Could you tell me a bit about yourself
?
B: Yes. You answered my question. But I guess there is still a lot more to say
about it. As for me, I didn't really choose Norway. The exchange programe was
organised like this, and the University of Bergen happened to have many
interesting researches concerning my own subject, which is autonomy and
multimedia for language learning purposes. But I've always liked Scandinevian
countries and since I had never been in Norway before it was a good opportunity.
I think it is much more interesting to study abroad in any case because you have
the chance of meeting new people of different origins and different countries,
with different opinions, and this is really fascinating, especially in today's
world.
C: So, the big question is; IS THERE ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO FINDS THESE SUBJECTS
OR US INTERESTING ENOUGH TO WRITE TO US ?? I do hope so. I appeal to you with all
my heart. I don't know about Benedicte, but I would be tremendesly happy to hear
from some of you. One other thing I would like to ask you about is; is there
anybody who works voluntary for the Red Cross out there? If so, do any of you
work with youths and children that needs contact with grown-up for social
reasons, like when their parents haven't got time for them?? I would really like
to know what you do, what kind of experiences you have etc.
B : Yes, of course. That's what Internet is for, isn't it? As for me, it is the
first time I use Internet and I'm very anxious to find out if it is as
interactive as people say. Maybe we could run into contact with some very
interesting people who could give us some good adresses..... no, just
joking....some good ideas, maybe. Personaly, I would like to know what people
think about language learning with multimedia, especially with CD Roms but also
with Internet. Does anybody have any idea of how autonomy can be achieved with
these new technologies?
C: I think we have to stop this now. We'll be back later if answered.
