scangaut.pdf (PDF document) contains an explanation of the Springer style. The document has been made according to the LNCS style. In addition to getting an impression of its looks, you will find useful information on the style.
We strongly recommend that authors use the text processing system LaTeX2e and the Springer class file: "llncs.cls". Depending on your local LaTeX2e configuration you might need the following additional styles: "multicol.sty" and "psfig.sty".
"scangaut.tex" is the LaTeX2e source file for the explanation document above, and can be used as a template , while "paper.tex" is a "minimum" LaTeX2e ScanGIS paper template.
Springer has also made a Microsoft Word template file that should give about the same result as the LaTeX2e class for Microsoft Word for Windows version 6 and 7. We recommend that you use "sv-lncs.dot" if you have to use Microsoft Word for text formatting. Springer also has a template for MS Word for Macintosh 6. "sv-lncs.doc" (MS Word file) is a description of how to use the MS Word templates.
If you have other text formatting systems, please make certain that you read and follow the style descriptions closely
Electronic submission
We accept and encourage electronic submission of the papers and the camera-ready manuscripts.
We accept the following formats for electronic paper submission:
We can also handle Postscript (as standard as possible!). Our upload system can only handle single files, so if you have several files you will have to package them together for upload. We think we can handle most formats, but Unix tar and compress/gzip will be OK, as well as most Wintel zip-files.
We might be able to accept Microsoft Word files up to a certain version, but would rather not.
