Sex-biased dispersal and evolution in the great white and other sharks: fishy tales from a molecular biologist. Dr. Leslie Noble, Senior Lecturer ved Department of Zoology, University of Aberdeen holder gjesteforelesning fredag 6. juni kl. 10.15 i Aud. 4, Realfagbygget. The talk will focus on the hot topic of the decline in number of several of the great sharks of the NW Atlantic dealt with in a recent paper in "Science". Sex-biased dispersal is an important part of the life history of these sharks and can be studied by molecular methods which is to be done in an ongoing project of Dr. Noble and his collegues as they did in the study of the great white sharks (i.e. "Nature" 412/2001).
