Library

Volda University College has a modern library located in the Berte Kanutte building. The library area includes all the rentable books and documents, as well as, several working desks for students and a computer lab. The library provides computers for library search, and the help desk may assist the user in utlizing the search tools. Similarly to other areas of the campus, the library is a wireless interenet area that enables owners of laptops with network cards to work online witihin our premises.

Lending Rules

Students may borrow books and documents using their student ID-card as a library card, staff by using their employment ID-card. Most of the material in the library can be borrowed, however, some documents, books and the most recent edition of printed journals, are for library use only. Normal lending period for library documents is 4 weeks, and the patron is responsible for returning the borrowed documents in due time. If no other patron is requesting the documents, the lending period may be extended.

In addition to a wide variety of books and documents, the library subscribe to approximately 20 Norwegian and international newspapers, as well as, 480 journals in print or internet editions. The library also include CDs, sound books, CD-ROMs and videos (VHS and DVDs) that students may borrow.

The library at Volda University College aims to support the ongoing research and learning at the university college, and our goal is that the library should be an inspiring working environment for students and staff. To fulfill its objectives, the library shall gather sources of knowledge, in print and in electronic format, and make these sources readily available for the users. We aim to assist and support students and staff in their search for new knowledge.
