There are three accommodation options offered at Griffith University:

On-campus residences
Homestay with an Australian Family
Off-campus accommodation

The Queensland College of Art (QCA) and Gold Coast campuses do not have on-campus residential facilities. However, assistance is provided in finding suitable off-campus accommodation. Temporary accommodation can be arranged before the student arrives and Griffith University offers assistance with finding permanent accommodation.

This option is available at the Nathan and Mt Gravatt campuses. Both campuses offer catered rooms which cost from AUD$106 per week up to AUD$195 per week. Other costs include the Residential Accommodation Application Fee of AUD$27.50 (non-refundable) to be submitted with the exchange application if interested, Security Deposit: $350 (initial fee which is refundable), Residential Student Association Fee: $25 per semester, and Maintenance and Development Levy: $165 (initial fee).

Homestay accommodation

The option of a Homestay allows student the opportunity to live with an Australian family for the duration of their studies. The cost of Homestay accommodation is approximately $160 per week. This includes breakfast, dinner and a packed lunch if required. Students are placed in a homestay for a minimum of four weeks and are required to pay the family four weeks in advance within a few days of arrival. Students are responsible for the costs of washing, ironing, telephone and transport.

off-campus accommodation

Finding off-campus is quite easy at Griffith. During the January-February and June-July periods, we compile regularly updated lists of houses and flats available for rent in the suburbs surrounding the University campuses. Accommodation varies from approximately AUD$100 to AUD$170 per week, plus living expenses.
