Introduction to Norway - 6 ECTS  (spring and autumn term).
The main aim of the course is to provide students with an opportunity to learn about Norway. The course also serves as an arena for wider international contact and learning; exchange students from many countries take part in excursions and teaching sessions, and work together in internationally mixed groups on assignments. Topics dealt with in the course include Norwegian geography, history, economy, political structure, culture and social conditions as well as more local topics such as the history of Trondheim.

English I  - 30 ECTS (autumn term).
English II
 - 30 ECTS (spring term).
The English department teaches the didactics of teaching English as a second/foreign language as well as literature, background, grammar and pronunciation. Emphasis is place on developing communicative competence, improving both written and oral skills, and on active student participation. The department has considerable experience in using process writing together with portfolios for text production and assessment.

Music I   - 30 ECTS (autumn term)
Music II - 30 ECTS
(spring term)

Physical Education - 30 ECTS (autumn term)
Physical Education - 30 ECTS
 (spring term)
The Physical Education Department emphasizes a playful approach in the teaching of the subject. Practical activities are most important, but interaction between practical activities and theory is emphasised.

School experience
It is important that exchange students have a chance to experience Norwegian schools first-hand. School experience is, therefore, an important component in all courses. Students are required to take part in observing teaching, assisting teaching and/or teaching in one of the Faculty’s primary or secondary partner schools. Students have a teacher mentor during this school experience.
