New passwords must consist of a mix of upper and lower size letters, characters and numbers according to the following rules

1. All passwords must be at least eight characters in length.
2. Among the first eight characters, there must be characters from at least three of the four character groups A-Z, a-z, 0-9 and special characters (like !”#& …).
3. The eight first characters must not form a word neither from English nor any other language.
4. If the password contains only one capital letter, this letter must be placed somewhere else than as the first letter.
5. If the password contains only one digit or special character, this digit/character must be placed somewhere else than the eight position
6. Do not use ÆØÅ or other language specific characters.

Note that after changing your password, it might take a while before your new password has been spread to all systems. You should therefore consider changing your password at the end of the day, so that the new password will be spread by tomorrow.

You must change your password at least once every year, preferably more frequently. If you have not changed your password within a one year period, you will receive an e-mail requesting that you do so. If you still have not changed your password within 1 month, your account will be closed. It will still exist, and can receive e-mails, but no one, including yourself, will be able to log into the account. An account that has been disabled for more than one year will be assumed to no longer be in use, and will be deleted automatically.
