research vessels

The Institute of Marine Research owns three research vessels, one of which, the “G. O. Sars”, is jointly owned with the University of Bergen. The Institute also operates the “Dr. Fridtjof Nansen”, which is owned by NORAD and is deployed on the west coast of Africa, and the “Håkon Mosby”, which is owned by the University of Bergen.

The research vessels are our most important means of gathering data on natural resources and the environment.
