Venue: Hurtigruta (coastal steamer) from Trondheim to Bergen, Norway
Hurtigruta will leave Trondheim at 10:00 on the 24th and arrive in Bergen at 14:30 on the 25th.
The seminar will, with reference to
- the Johannesburg declaration on the establishment of MPAs (ref WSSD Plan of Implementation para 31.c),
- the discussion on MPA in the Committee of Fisheries, FAO, in 2005,
- FAO’s ongoing work on this issue
- and to the implementation of a number of MPAs taking place all around the world, and also in developing countries,
look into
- concepts of protected areas
- issues arising from the implementation of MPAs in developing countries
- case studies from countries with whom Norway has development cooperation within fisheries
