International Conference on Flexible Supply Chains in a Global Economy

Norwegian School of SCM and Logistics
Molde University College, Norway , July 16-18 2008

The conference is hosted by Molde University College which is the leading research and education center for operations management in Norway.

Success in businesses as well as public agencies is highly dependable on effective Supply Chain Management (SCM). Increasing global trading and competitive pressure challenge the way we deal with value added services as well as efficient flow in all parts of the supply chain. The global economy also raises the need for flexibility and change management. Environmental consciousness makes it important to consider how policies towards the physical and social environment affect suppliers and customers.

Some relevant topics for the Conference are:

  • Environment and energy concern in the Supply Chain
  • Distribution networks, routing and transportation systems
  • Inventory planning and management
  • Make or buy decisions
  • Uncertainty and disruption in the Supply Chain
  • Planning supply and demand - managing predictable variability
  • Application, integration and development of information systems and technology
  • E-Business
  • Managing conflicts of interest in the Supply Chain
  • Exploit scale effects in the Supply Chain
  • Supply chains in public organizations and service enterprises
