Mental health work
Mental health work has long been an area of high priority, both for national- and regional health policy in Norway. However, as an area of knowledge and practice development, mental health work is relatively new.
Our main focus within this area is on treatment and support for persons with mental illness, and the consequences that the illness has for individuals, their families and their social networks. Mental health work is multi-professional, and collaboration between the departments of nursing and health- and social work is therefore established, both on the systems-level and through concrete projects. We have established a network for research and development of mental health work across these two departments.
