Uteskole (engelsk versjon)

This is a 30 credits course, tow semester, starting in August 2008. The course will be started provided we get enough applicants.

Target group

The course is open to all foreign exchange students and to Norwegian teachers or students studying at HiST (Sør-Trøndelag University College) 4 th year of general teachers programme.

Contents

Outdoor school is an interdisciplinary course which aims to give students an insight in experienced-based pedagogy. Central subjects will be English, physical education, maths and arts and crafts.

This course will contribute to practical and theoretical understanding of how outdoor school can be used as a method to learn school subjects.

Teaching methods

All teaching and conversation will be in English, both in groups and as a class. The course requires that the students are present and active since much of the teaching will be as practical activity. There will be excursions that require that the students are present

I tillegg til praksis har studiet en del obligatoriske arbeidskrav i form av oppgaver i språk og tekstskriving. Studentene samler sine tekster i en mappe. I tillegg til eksamen vil utvalgte deler av mappa bli vurdert ved karaktersetting.

Exam will be oral together with portfolios for text production and assessment.
