International students must have good oral and written skills in Norwegian language.
The students will gain insight into principal aspects of Norwegian literature and history from about 1900 up until the present day. The syllabus consists of works and shorter texts from the period, as well as literature history, literature theory and methodology. There is also a module concerning the most recent literature.
Norwegian literature after 1900.
Autumn semester, 7 hours per week for a period of 15 weeks. Lectures and seminars and group work.
Individual home assignment of roughly 2000 words with obligatory supervision which counts for 40% of the final mark, and a 4-hour final examination which counts for 60%. Optional language variant. Students must receive passing marks in both the assignment and the final examination. The assignments may be written in Norwegian or English.
