IMAPs (Secure IMAP) using Outlook

Setting up Outlook

IMAPS is IMAP with SSL. It is safer than IMAP, and is used here at NTNU. This article is a short guide to adding your e-mail account to Outlook with IMAPS (IMAP with SSL). You can use the same key points when setting up your e-mail in other clients.

Choose Tools - E-mail accounts, Add. Check for IMAP and choose Next. Enter your information like the following picture:

Choose More settings, Advanced and check for This server requires a secure connection (SSL). and the port will change to 993.

Choose OK and Finish. Everything should work great now.
