Pine and SMTP

If you have problems sending e-mail using Pine, Pine might be configured incorrectly. To fix the problem try the solution below.

  1. Start Pine by writing pine in your shell.
  2. Choose Setup from the menu (press S).
  3. Choose Config from the submenu which appears (press C).
  4. Choose the third line in the list that appears (smtp-server) and press Enter.
  5. Enter the follolwing value: smtp.stud.ntnu.no and press Enter.
  6. Exit setup ny pressing E.
  7. When Pine asks: "Commit changes?" press Y for "Yes".

You will probably be able to send e-mail now.
