Remote Desktop Connection
Remote Desktop Connection is a feature in Windows XP which allows you to connect to another computer and operate it. You will work on the desktop of the actual machine. On NTNU you can connect to several terminal servers. Note that some of the faculties have their own clients that you can connect to if you are a student on that spesific faculty.
Some of the genral terminal clients you can connect to are listed here:
- tsstud.stud.ntnu.no
- tim.svt.ntnu.no
- hfenterprise.hf.ntnu.no
- ts-idi.idi.ntnu.no:59059
You can only access these terminals if you are connected via the NTNU network (your IP adress must start with 129.241, otherwise you can use a VPN-client.
In order to connect to the terminal clients mentioned above, click on Start - All programs - Accessories - Communications - Remote Desktop Connection. Type in tsstud.stud.ntnu.no (or the server you wish to connect to). In the next window type in your username and password. Note that in the field "Log on to" has to say WIN-NTNU-NO in order for you to connect.
