FTP transfers passwords without encryption. This is now considered too insecure, and the FTP service on NTNU's stud servers has therefore been closed down. Instead, you can now connect to an SFTP server. This works almost in the same way as FTP, but your password will be encrypted before transfer to the server. Read more about SFTP.
