What are the IT-regulations?

The IT-regulations are the regulations you have to follow when you use NTNU's IT system. With "IT system" we mean all computers at NTNU that are connected to the network. If someone misuses NTNU's network, NTNU can be legally responsible for the traffic generated on the network.

Be aware that misuse of the IT system can cause partial or complete disconnection. That is, if your computer is on campus, or you are using the dial-up service, and you are violating the IT-regulations you risk that your computer will be disconnected for a certain period of time. The length varies, but 3 months is standard. Another thing you should be aware of is that violations of the IT-regulations is reported to your faculty. It has happened that faculties have denied students e.g. to study abroad.

For more information read the IT-regulations.
