Virus information

Each e-mail you receive to your stud.ntnu.no-address gets scanned for viruses. If a virus is detected, the e-mail will be stopped and the sender is alerted of this so he/she may remove the virus.

If you receive such an e-mail you should do this:

1. Download and install Anti-virus software
2. Update the virus definitions
3. Scan your computer for viruses

How you remove the virus depends on what kind of virus program you have. NTNU offers F-Secure Anti-Virus for both student and employees for free. You can get it at Orakeltjenesten or download it yourself from progdist.

If you get an e-mail but don't have a virus

Sometimes a virus may change the sender-address so you will get an e-mail saying you have a virus even though you don't.
