If a virus is detected, the e-mail will be stopped and the sender is alerted of this so he/she may remove the virus. If you receive such an e-mail you should do this:

1. Download and install Anti-virus software
2. Update the virus definitions
3. Scan your computer for viruses

How you remove the virus depends on what kind of virus program you have. NTNU offers F-Secure Anti-Virus for both student and employees for free. You can get it at Orakeltjenesten or download it yourself from progdist. If you need help doing this, please contact Orakeltjenesten with information on what virus program you use and how you think you got your virus. If you get an e-mail but don't have a virus Sometimes a virus may change the sender-address so you will get an e-mail saying you have a virus even though you don't.
