About the faculty
The Faculty of Law is located in the centre of Bergen, overlooking the Bergen fjord.
At the Faculty of Law we focus on high quality research and teaching within a variety of legal areas. Our international profile is reflected both in research activities and in the substantial number of students which we have the pleasure of welcoming every semester. It is also seen in the number of students from our Faculty travelling abroad.
Renovation of Dragefjellet school building
As of June 2014 work will start to renovate the old school building at the Faculty of Law. The project will last until March/April 2015 which means that there will be construction work going on in the entrance part of the faculty for the whole of this semester.
This also means that some reading rooms, seminar rooms and PC rooms previously located in this building will be closed. There will however be temporary rooms located in different areas/buildings.

The Faculty will give priority to long-term enhancement of resources for these specialized areas:
- Criminal law and criminal procedure
- Competition and market law
- Law of property and obligations
