Software
Arrangements
NTNU has made arrangements so that all the students and emplyees has access to free/inexpensive software. At ITEAs site you'll find an overview over all the software NTNU offers their students.
Different arrangements:
- Freeware: free for all students and emplyees.
- Site licence: Software with site licence can be used by all the employees. Some of the software may be used by students as well, but not all of them.
- Campus arrangement: Only for stationary computers at NTNU. This does not apply for personal computers, but for NTNUs stationary computers, often located in computerlabs.
- Discount arrangements: You can buy licences low-priced.
- Volume arrangements: NTNU only has a limited number of licences.
Access
The software is available from a server called Progdist.
More information on how to connect to Progdist can be found here:
- How to connect with Progdist using Windows
- How to connect with Progdist using Mac OS X
- How to connect with Progdist using Linux
When you're connected to Progdist, you'll see that there are three catalogs to choose from; Campus, Betal and Fri. Everybody has access to Campus and Fri. There are many different programs listed in the catalogues and in those program folders you'll find installation files sorted after different operating systems and a file called Lesmeg.txt that can help you with the installation of the software.
If you have a stationary computer without an Internet connection, you'll have to stop by one of Orakeltjenestens offices and borrow a CD with the software from Progdist.
