Intermedia Lab

InterMediaLab has been established to support the research environments at the University of Oslo in design, communication and learning. We pay special attention to development and experimentation.

We have competence and infrastructures which are used for experimentation and development in and with digital media. InterMedia is involved in projects with researchers from informatics, medicine, education, media studies and art and design studies who work closley with our staff in the InterMediaLab.

InterMedia has competence within ICT and video-based learning environments with special focus on collaborative learning. We also work with special needs education, web and communication design, ICT and health, the mediation of research via digital media. A number of areas are important: video-based scenario development, web development and programming, MPEG technologies and streaming, 3D/virtual studio video production,  and video analysis.
