Use of statistics and evaluation of significance of results are emphasized. The course includes working with bacteria and cells, with preparative methods, enzymology and gene technology. Furthermore, instrumental techniques and procedures for spectrophotometry, chromatography, electrophoresis and use of centrifuges. Safety aspects of laboratory work will be stressed. The course is obligatory for a bachelor's degree in molecular biology.
Learning Outcomes
The course aims to provide basic knowledge of experimental biochemistry and molecular biology, and so to provide a foundation for further studies in molecular biology.
