What is gender? How does gender operate in culture and in society? Has our understanding of gender transformed over time? Has it changed in the meeting with other ethnic and religious groups? Can film, literature and art create alternative ways of understanding gender?
Research questions connected to gender and sexuality can be key towards understanding human beings and the societies in which we live. Gender studies investigates a wide range of historical as well as contemporary perspectives on gender. In the various themes, there will be room to reflect deeply around themes connected to gender, such as sexuality, ethnicity, religion, media, literature and society.
