The academic year at the University of Bergen is of a total of 40 weeks.

The autumn semester lasts 19 weeks, starting week 33 (mid August) and ending week 51 (end of December).

The spring semester lasts 21 weeks, starting week 2 (early January) and ending week 24 (end of June).

We recommend that you plan your travel according to the semester dates. Lecture start each semester may vary, contact your faculty for more details.
Public Holidays: there are several public holidays throughout the year in Norway.
