Cultural events
The Welfare Committee offers university employees discounts on a variety of cultural events.
Get to know Bergen
The Welfare Committee has introduced a new project called "Get to know Bergen". The aim of this project is to offer university employees a range of different opportunities to get to know and explore Bergen. The Welfare Committee already has well-established city walking tours in Bergen and is now also offering organised trips to the mountains surrounding the city. Soon it will also be introducing sea trips to allow university employees to get better acquainted with the sea around Bergen.
Theatre tickets
The Welfare Committee has an agreement with "Den Nationale Scene" in Bergen, allowing us to offer employees discount rates for some performances on specific days. The agreement covers performances aimed at adults and children. In 2013, we will be offering discount tickets for the following performances: A Doll's House, Pippi Longstocking, The Polar Night, Calendar Girls, and Dyvekke. Information about special offers will be sent on the Welfare Committee's electronic mailing list.
Revy og teaterservice
The Welfare Committee has an agreement with the theatre company Revy og teaterservice (R&TS), allowing us to offer employees discount rates for some performances on specific days. True to tradition, in 2013 too we will be offering discount tickets to the classic children's show "Putti plutti pot". Information about special offers will be sent on the Welfare Committee's electronic mailing list.
City walks
Why not join a walking tour of Bergen? A guide will show you round and tell you interesting facts and stories about Bergen, important historical people and events, and the places you visit on the city walk. In recent years, the University of Bergen has collaborated with the writer Gunnar Staalesen on these trips. There will be two tours in 2013, one in the spring and one in the autumn. Information about special offers will be sent on the Welfare Committee's electronic mailing list.
