The Hormone Laboratory research group has a primary focus on obesity, diabetes and breast cancer. We are particularly interested in identifying biomarkers that can predict disease development and responsiveness to therapy.
We are an interdisciplinary research group consisting of scientists and technicians with background in medicine, endocrinology, biochemistry, molecular biology, and nutrition.
The group is integrated with the Hormone Laboratory at Haukeland University Hospital, and we are affiliated to the KG Jebsen Center for Diabetes Research at the University of Bergen. Professor Gunnar Mellgren is the leader of the research group.
