Core Facilities

At The Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, there are seven core facilities.

  • Small images:
    Cell sorting - Flow Cytometry

The FLOW facility is now an independent facility at Department of Clinical Science, but booking is still done via MICs booking pages and thereby all users need to register at MIC to get access to book the instruments.

  • Genomics Core Facility (GCF)
The Genomics Core Facility provides a wide range of high-throughput genomic services to the local and international scientific community.
  • PROBE
The Proteomics Unit at the University of Bergen (PROBE) is a national core facility for large scale protein analysis using mass spectrometry.
  • Core Facility for Metabolomics
The research laboratory is equipped with two liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry units, which are used to establish methods for the quantification of small (< 2 000 Da) molecules.
  • Laboratory Animal Facility
The Laboratory Animal Facility is a partner and a resource for activities that involve experiments with animals.
  • Molecular Imaging Center (MIC)
The Molecular Imaging Centre (MIC) is an imaging core facility with the dual mission of doing imaging methods R&D and on this basis providing the best possible service to the Norwegian scientific community.
