Centre of Excellence (SFF) is the Norwegian Research Council's main instrument for ensuring quality research. By providing solid financial support for centres of excellence, this could encourage continuity, quality and international standard in Norwegian research.

  • Birkeland Centre for Space Science
    Senteret skal øke kunnskapen om strømfeltene rundt jorda, partikkelskurer fra rommet, nordlys, gammaglimt og andre koblinger mellom Jorden og rommet.
  • Centre for Intervention Science in Maternal and Child Health
    Mange dødsfall, sykdommer og fødselskomplikasjoner kunne vært unngått med enkle midler. Senteret skal bidra til å forbedre helsen for mor og barn sør for Sahara og i Sør-Asia.
  • Centre for Cancer Biomarkers
    Senteret har som mål å flytte grensene for vår kunnskap om hvordan kreftceller og deres fysiske naboceller samhandler.

    The Centre for Geobiology in Bergen’s primary research focus will be the extreme environments found in the deep seafloor, the deep biosphere and remnants of ancient crust, which were formed in deep time.
