Ethics in Research
As a researcher, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of the many different ethical aspects involved in research and the role and conduct of research, such as integrity, impartiality and independence. In addition there are a number of laws and regulations that must be complied with.
Many research projects at MOF are covered by the Norwegian Health Research Act and are notifiable to the IEC. Other projects may not include health information, but may still be reportable to the Data Protection Official for Research.
In addition, researchers should be aware of the rules relating to authorship, conflicts of interest and other issues. The UiB has prepared some helpful information about this, which you can find via this page.
