Equality
The University of Bergen aims to be a leading university through its work on equal opportunities and a good gender balance at all levels of the organisation.
The work on equal opportunities is rooted in UiB's strategy (2012-2015) which emphasises that the university will work actively to prevent discrimination and make the institution a place of work and study that is inclusive and builds on diversity and equality. A high level of expertise, good collaboration and interaction between the academic, administrative and technical employees, and effective collaboration processes are necessary to reach the university's common goals. It is the expanded equal opportunities concept with measures against all forms of discrimination that shall be used as the basis. An important condition for reaching our goals is that the academic environments are international, diverse and have a good gender balance and age structure.
