Pregnancy outcomes and long-term maternal mortality risk have never before been addressed based on the woman's complete reproductive history. The project will fundamentally change how physicians interpret the effects of adverse pregnancy outcomes on mother's future health and may also lead to new opportunities for diagnosis and prevention of latent maternal diseases that are expressed first as pregnancy failure.

Project Extreme PrematuritySmall images:

Advances in neonatal medicine have improved the survival of infants with low birth weight. Repeatedly an increased prevalence of psychological and medical problems has been documented in this group of children such as intellectual disturbances, language delays and behaviour problems like ADHD and learning difficulties. Medical problems comprise subnormal growth, various illnesses and neurodevelopmental problems. This excess morbidity makes this group of children target for follow‑up assessments and early intervention.
