Monster Workshop

Centre for Women's and Gender Research (SKOK) welcomes all interested to a workshop on monsters.

We live in times of monsters: whether within popular culture, medical discourses, the news or nursery rhymes – monsters still lurk under our beds. At the Monster Workshop we will discuss what it might mean to engage critically with the figure of the monster. The workshop will consist of open discussions as well as presentations by researchers working with theories on monsters and the monstrous. The presentations will touch upon topics such as science fiction, embodiment, postcolonial theory, posthumanism, horror and much more. The workshop is the first step towards establishing an international network for all who are interested in and/or work with monsters and the monstrous.
