Admission of exchange students

International students can apply as exchange students if they are nominated by their home universities for a period of study abroad (1 or 2 semesters).

Students apply online for admission to various short term exchange programmes.

 

Admission of applicants for master's programmes

Degree seeking international students residing abroad can apply for admission to master programmes taught in English by following the application procedures for either self-financing students or the quota scheme.

Applicants residing in Norway must apply for admission to the master's programmes directly to the Faculty of Social Sciences.

For exchange students: 15 October / 15 May

For master's degree applicants residing abroad: 1 December

For master's degree applicants residing in Norway: 15 April / 1 November

  • Admission of master's degree applicants residing in Norway

    The Faculty of Social Sciences offers a number of master's degree programmes both in English and Norwegian. International applicants residing in Norway must apply for admission to master's degree programmes electronically at the faculty.

  • Admission of master's degree applicants residing abroad
    International applicants for Master's degree programmes residing outside Norway can apply for admission either as self-financing students or as a students financed through the Quota Scheme.
  • Admission of exchange students
    International students can apply as exchange students if they are nominated by their home universities for a period of study abroad (1 or 2 semesters). The University of Bergen offers a large number of courses taught in English at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
  • Extended Enrolment at the Faculty of Social Sciences

    When you have completed a degree you lost your enrolment at the Faculty of Social Sciences. If you would like to keep studying, you can apply for extended enrolment. With this enrolment you can keep signing up for courses for up to two semesters.
