The main cold climate technology research activities at NUC:
- Numerical modelling and simulations of wind and snowdrift
- Numerical modelling and simulations of snow avalanche
- Icing on structures - Sensors for detection of icing
- Energy conservation in wooden houses in Northwest Russia
- Numerical modelling and simulations of icing on structures (new)
- Melting and investigation of ground frost
The Cold Climate PhD studies are performed in collaboration with the Norwegian University of Science and Technology in Trondheim. Future programs will, among others, include collaboration with Arkhangelsk State Technical University in Russia.
