Health work
In Ethiopia, I have worked we work with local, regional and national government, and with Norwegian Lutheran Mission and The Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus.
Currently I work with the following projects:
- Reducing maternal deaths: This project aims to support hospitals and health centres in their work to reduce maternal deaths. The target population are pregnant women in two zones and three special woredas in south-west Ethiopia. The project shall enable these hospitals and health centres to practice safe delivery.
- Developing sustainable health institutions: We continue the work started over 10 years ago to make the hospital sustainable. The results are encouraging. Despite heavy patient loads, the hospitals have managed to become managerially and financially sustainable within a regional context.
