Abstract

Keynote - Csaba Veres "Web2.0: The Turing Test for Natural Intelligence?"

People talk of the Turing test as a way to decide when our machines have become smart enough to be welcomed into our exclusive little club of intelligent beings. But in the intervening time our machines have taken over: Google tells me what I am REALLY searching for, and Word tells me what I REALLY wanted to write. Indeed, computers have far exceeded our ability to organize and structure our lives and thoughts. But Web2.0 is a new chance for Natural Intelligence to prevail. Can our supposedly messy, lazy minds take back the power to structure our own existence? Can we compete with these machines and win their Turing test?
