Protein Research Group (PRG)
Welcome to the Protein Research Group (PRG) at Department of Molecular Biotechnology (AMB). The group is located in the MH-building and is a part of the Institute of Medical Biology (IMB) at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tromsø, Norway.
The Protein Research Group consists of two Faculty position, one Technical position, and a variable number of Post Doctoral fellows, PhD and Master students.
The group is involved in projects related to understanding cold adaptation of enzymes, bioprospecting, and the Vibrio salmonicida genome project.
The Protein Research Group is part of the Norwegian Structural Biology Centre (NORSTRUCT). NORSTRUCT is a national service and competence centre in structural biology, and aims at establishing reasonably high throughput structural biology facilities of high international standard for determination and analysis of the 3D-structures of biologically active macromolecules.
The group is also one of partners in the PhD school in molecular and structural biology at University of Tromsø.
On this web-site you will find information about the group and ongoing research projects.
Students will also find information about the courses given by the group. In addition the group can offer student projects to Master of Technology in Biotechnology and Master of Science in Molecular Biology.
