Need for a prescription

Activity

1. Actor opens the prescription module in the patient's EHR
2. Actor checks for known drug allergies and other drug intolerances
3. Actor intend to prescribe a drug that is new to the patient
   • Actor identifies the drug he plan to prescribe by picking the name of the drug from a drug database
   • Actor checks whether there exist clinically significant interactions between the new drug and other drugs the patient is using
   • Such interactions are present
     • Actor identifies another drug
   • Actor decides how the drug should be administered, the daily dose, the dose interval and the duration of the therapy
4. The patient already uses the drug (an existing prescription shall be continued)
5. Actor identifies an old prescription from the EHR
6. The old prescription needs to be changed
   • Actor modifies the prescription
7. The patient needs to be prescribed more drugs
   • 3 or 4 is repeated

The prescription is ready to be signed by the doctor
