Infomation in English

Every student will be assigned to a red-fadder (eng: guardian) who will guide you trough the week and ensure your well-being. Every day, except one, during the weeks have a specific arrangement to help the new student to know each other and enhance social life.

Wednesday 15th August
The day will start at 10am at the football grounds next in the center of campus. From there the students will be divided into groups (5 – 15 persons depending on the size of the class) with one red-fadder as guardian. The fadders will take down names and phone numbers and give each group a tour of the school.

11am will all students meet up at the student community house where there´ll be a speech from the principal and the two blue-fadders (leaders of the fadder-week).

Thursday 16th August
The student community house invites alle students at HIG to a Back to School Party. The red-fadder will invite new students to a pre-party before heading up to the main party. The prises on beer will have Happy Hours from 21:00 until 24.00 so make sure you get there early! The House will close at 02.00!

Friday 17th August
Today there will be a Quiz at the Student Community House. People can join into groups and play for some great prizes! This is a great and really fun game!

Saturday 18th August
Today we’ll let you get to know Gjøvik a bit more. We’ll meet at the Student Community House at 13.00 and everyone will be put into different groups. We’ll then send you out on a journey around Gjøvik. Prises for the best group!

Later this evening we’ll have the famous pupcrawl. We start at the Student Community House at 19.00, where everyone will get a bracelet. When everyone is ready we’ll walk down town to the first Pub to get a beer or two, and then we’ll walk to the next one. It’s will be lots of fun!

Sunday 19th August
Hopefully today will be a sunny day as we take you down to the green grass at Mjøsa. We’ll barbeque, play games and just relax in the great environment that Gjøvik has to offer. Feel free to jump into the cold Mjøsa!

Monday 20th August
After lunch today we’ll have some activities around campus. We meet up around the student house around 12.30, and here you’ll get to know more about the Student House, and the small student groups that are to be found. Afterwards there will be a lot of activities with nice prises for the best groups!

Tuesday 21st August
Meet up at the Student Community House for a game of Texas Holdem! The doors will open at 18.00 so make sure to get there early to get your place in the game!

Wednesday 22nd August
Today at 15.30 we’ll take you all on the Buss to Raufoss to get under water. Raufoss Badeland has a big pool with waves, slides and so on, so expect a lot of fun!

When we’re done swimming will get down to Gjøvik Kino were we’ll get some good prises on tonights movie!

Thursday 23rd August
This is the night most of us have been waiting for. Beerparty! Good prises on the beer, good music, and a lot of fun! Come to the Community House and dance on the tables!!

Friday 24th August
Tonight is the night for Bowling! Bring your friends and have fun! Prizes for the best bowler!

Saturday 25th August
Tonight we’ll start the day hopefully getting som tan up at Fastland. For those of you that doesn’t like that, you can play volleyball or other games. Bring your good mood, barbeque and have som fun!

When evening comes we’ll go out to a selected bar in Gjøvik for some Beer, dancing and lots of fun!

Sunday 26th August
Finally a day to relax!

Monday 27th August
At lunchtime today you’ll have the chance to buy old books from the cafeteria. Remember to bring cash!

Later tonight the Community House invites you to come see Jon Schau perform Stand-up. Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria!

Tuesday 28th August
Finally the moment we all have been waiting for! Our overnight trip to Hafjell! It will be a lot of fun, so don’t forget to join!

Wednesday 29th August
We get back from Hafjell, and get to relax the rest of the day!

Thursday 30th August
Today we’ll have a beachparty at the Student House! Put on your best Hawaii-outfit, and come have fun with all your new friends!

Friday 31st August
Today there will be a Quiz at the Student Community House. People can join into groups and play for some great prizes! This is a great and really fun game!

Saturday 1st September
Today is the last night of the Fadderweek. We kick it off with a Norwegian band kalled Skampbankt! They play rock, so the Student House will end the Fadderweek with a bang! Make sure not to miss it!! Tickets will be sold in the cafeteria!
