  • Plexiglas - OK
  • Wooden box - OK
  • 4x speakers and subwoofer - OK, but sub making a lot of vibrations, defocusing the camera
  • 4 channel amplifier - integrated in subwoofer
  • Soundcard - Terratec aureon 5.1 usb mk ii, having problems with more than 2 channels in windows
  • Computer - probably OK, could be necessary to build a powerful one.
  • Projector - at the moment the current projector has too short throw
  • Mirror - too small for current projector
  • Video camera - using unibrain fire-i but needing non-IR-coated lens, order is underway, ETA around one week
  • IR filter (removes visible light) for camera - using film negatives but should maybe get something better?
  • Infrared illumination inside box - ordered some LEDs, waiting for high-power LEDs from dealextreme
  • Tracing paper?

We probably need to use the principle of diffused illumination (DI), see http://www.nuigroup.com/forums/viewthread/1982/

We need to make sure the light is distributed evenly. If using LEDs, use as wide angle LEDs as possible.

We need a diametre of 90 cm, which means that the shortest dimension (the height) of the image needs to be this size. Often the picture size is measured by the diagonal length. The height of the box is ca 95 cm

Throw 0.66 => 80 cm avstand 3000 ansi lumens (Kan virke som den er for lys sier en på nuiforums men den kan vel kjøres i eco mode?) 34/29db. 1024x768, lysere enn optomaen men mindre kontrast.
