At the same time, Fredskorpset is required by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to approve the partners’ plans for this phase. In order to do this, the partners are, in turn, required to send a course plan to Fredskorpset as an annex to the collaboration agreement. One of the main premises for the partners’ course plan is the document “Preparing for the exchange – a guide”, which sets out the minimum requirements for the partners’ preparatory course. The present document will also be used in evaluation of course plans.
CONTENT OF THE COURSE PLAN
The plan for the preparatory course sent by the partners to Fredskorpset must contain the following:
a) Learning plan
The learning plan should cover the following:
• What is the objective/what are the learning goals for the course?
• Theme and content relevant to achieving the objective (see “Preparing for the exchange – a guide”). Will the course deal with any themes besides those stipulated by the above guide?
• Teaching methods relevant to achieving the objective of the course; describe which teaching principles will be used on the course.
• How will the course be evaluated? When and how will this be done, and how will the evaluation be used in further work on the preparatory course?
b) Timetable
c) List of teaching staff and their backgrounds
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING AND FEEDBACK
The course plan must be sent to Fredskorpset by 1 June for courses commencing after the summer, and by 1 November for courses commencing in the New Year. Fredskorpset’s courses department will review the plan, and provide feedback direct to the partner if the course plan is not satisfactory. A revised version must then be sent to the administrative officer for final approval. The partners are required to have had their course plan approved before the participants can commence the course programme.
Fredskorpset can, as part of Fredskorpset’s quality control of the partners’ and Fredskorpset’s own courses, pay observational visits to the partners’ course. The object of such visits is for Fredskorpset to familiarise itself with partner courses, both in terms of method and content, to prevent overlap between partner courses and Fredskorpset’s own courses, and to discuss relevant issues raised by either the partners or Fredskorpset.
